Goo Goos and Boom Booms

Friday, June 15, 2012 - We headed down to Chattanooga to catch a show by one of our favorite bands over the years, The Goo Goo Dolls, who were headlining tonight in the city's annual Riverbend Festival.  The guys are showing their age a bit, but still sounded great.   It was also nice to catch up with a couple of our friends including Mollie who we meet up with at the festival before the show, and then Elizabeth after the Goo Goo Dolls show for some late-night food and drinks at The Mellow Mushroom.

Saturday, June 16, 2012 - For the last night of Riverbend 2012, we headed down the Tennessee River on the sweet hand-restored boat of our brother-in-law, Andy, to catch a little of the headlining show by local American Idol star, Lauren Alaina, and the always-awesome fireworks conclusion to the festival.  We picked up our sister-in-law, Paige, at the festival later on  as well as our friend, Elizabeth, for an enjoyable evening on the water.

A beautiful evening was developing as we passed

Let the fireworks begin!  An amazing site from the river.
